The project

Meaningful leisure time activities and implementation of pedagogically supervised skate workshops

In May 2010, we built a skate park with miniramp at the Salesian Institute of Don Bosco, which cares mainly for street children. The construction was realized together with the street children of the institute. For seven years volunteers were regularly sent to the project. These carried out skate workshops with both children and adolescents from the institute, as well as from outside. The kids from outside get in touch with the institute in an uncomplicated way. Particularly committed young people are given the opportunity to be admitted to the institute and can then go through school or training. In the summer of 2017, the skate park had to be closed due to the increased space required by Don Bosco. Until 2018, the workshops were held with a small group in public places.

This project was started by the Titus Dittmann Foundation and then continued by the skate-aid e.V.
