skate-aid support in 2008/ 2009
The Situation
With a school for skateboarding, Oliver Percovic and his team want to bring back hope to kids and teens, whose lives have been marked by death, terror and destruction. Opening up new perspectives, breaking down prejudice, promoting human dignity and equality and imparting social values.
But foremost they want to bring a share of happiness to the lives of young people who do not have much to laugh about.
For this project skate-aid managed to raise donations amounting to almost 15.000 Euros. Furthermore skate-aid collected more than 2 tons of new and used skateboards and protective equipment which were brought to Kabul by Titus Dittmann himself. In October 2009 the skate hall opened in Kabul. skate-aid wishes Oliver Percovic and his team all the best.

Fundraising: Financial donations and donations in kind
Round about two tonnes of donations in kind were collected through a far-reaching donation call in all TITUS shops as well as multiple campaigns and distributed to Afghanistan by DHL free of charge. In addition, round about 10.000 Euros were raised that went into the building of the skatehall in Kabul. Last but not least an additional 2.650 Euros were raised through Skateistan T-Shirt sales and turned over to Skateistan e.V. in November. The remaining T-Shirts were also donated to Skateistan e.V.
